Description

Travel the world to discover new ingredients and recipes to recreate your family's long lost secret recipe!

In this game you are a cook whose main goal is to find the secret family recipe, called a golden recipe. You do that by collecting ingredients and experimenting with them to discover new recipes. The player can get ingredients from supplying a group of adventurers with the food which will increase their chances of succeeding in their adventures.

You and your party will traverse a randomly-generated map with a variety of activities, which each give unique ingredients.

Be careful though, if you don't supply your party with enough quality food, they might run out of steam and get knocked out. Any recipes you cooked carry on with you but you lose some of your ingredients when that happens.

Controls

Keyboard

  • Arrow keys -> Navigate Menu
  • WASD -> Pan map / Move cursor in mini game
  • Enter / Space -> Select
  • Left Shift / Backspace -> Go Back
  • I -> Toggle Inventory
  • R -> Toggle Recipe Book
  • E / Right Click -> Interact with Inventory Item/Tool
  • ESC -> Toggle settings menu / Cancel

Cheat Codes

Cheat codes can be entered in the "Cheat Codes" subpage of the settings menus (either before the run or during). The following cheat codes are available:

  • MASTERCHEF - Unlocks all recipes
  • SUPERMAN - Activities cost no health, stamina, or strength

Possible Roadmap Items

The following items are things we are considering for our future roadmap, mention them in the comments if you think they would help this game be more amazing!

  • Minigames, the list so far:
    • Berry rush- Top down mini-game to collect as many foraging ingredients as possible
    • Fishing - Timing based mini-game to catch the best fish for you sashimi!
  • Weather effects - Soup on a rainy day just hits better
  • Status effects - Feeding certain items like Jalapenos give you a fire resistance for the upcoming dragon boss fight
  • Repetition penalty - Feeding the same dish over and over reduces its stat impact on the team
  • Quality system - Dishes of higher quality provide better stats
  • Town NPCs - NPCs in towns to interact with, build story, and give you tips (i.e. possible recipes)
  • Different fuel systems - Upgrading your fuel system to coal, gas, magic
  • Improve stations - Copper, Iron, Gold, Dwarfen steel station types given you better modifiers
  • Servings - If you have 3 party members you only need 3 servings off food, 4 party members you need 4 servings, and so on. We believe this will increase the strategy of the game.
  • Party management - Introducing classes, equipment, and special abilities for the characters of your party
